The carnival of minstrel is also called as the coon carnival. It start’s during the 19th century when the slaves given freedom. It is given during the 2nd day of January. It happened when the American’s minstrels arrived on this town in some part of 19th century. Mali’s Festival-Au-Desert

This event is celebrated with music with the traditional dance of Tuareg for 3 days which takes place in Essakane and two hours from the Timbuktu of Mali. International acts of West Africa and Europe round out festivities. It is conducted by camping on the desert with their chosen camels. This event will certainly make you dance along with the locals having this distinctive sound of music. It is celebrated during the month of January on the 12th to 14th.
